Dominant Puritan Value
The biggest Puritan value that stands out to me is change. The Puritans weren't happy with the way the Church of England was running it's business, so they decided to change that. They tried to change it to the way they wanted, but they failed, so they decided to change where they did their business. They left England for America. Once they got here, they had to change the way they lived in order to survive. Once that became easy, they tried to change the Native Americans religion to their own, but that didn't work. Then, the Puritans tried to change their surroundings by driving the Native Americans out. Then everyone realized that being a Puritan sucked and they changed the way they ran their lives.

Change
I think the Quakers made the biggest change more then the Puritans. The Quakers left there own country and started a new life with harder challenges. That helped later in life like improvement in growth in there village. Also the people who came here form different countries enjoyed it even more because they got to believe in what ever they want to. Like
Puritan Values
I think that the puritans express the value of directness, openness, and honesty. Their main issue in England was that people weren't practicing their religion like they wanted. The first thing they did was flat out tell the church how they felt. They were direct and honest about their opinion and came straight to America when things didn't go their way. Once they got to America they were still direct and open about their opinions. If someone said something that they didn't agree with, they made sure that person was punished.

change
The value that I chosen for this assignment is change. I believe that it is important to the Quakers more than the puritans. The reason for that is the fact that the Quakers came to America and started a completly new religion and lifestyle that no one in England had even thought of. Their concept of change has given them a fun and fufilling life and let them enjoy life more than the quakers. The quakers lived a very laid back lifestyle where the puritans were work, work, work, and go to church ten times a day and only the best of the best go to heaven. The quakers thought of change was revolutionary compared to that of the puritans.

The self-help concept is an American value that was definitely exhibited by the Puritans. First, they started out in England and were not happy with their lives there because of religious views. So, they “helped” their selves by moving to America. They knew they would have little here but they still came and prevailed. The puritans came together and started building houses, cutting down trees, and working to make a better life. Nothing got in their way, even the Native Americas. They did what they had to do to get more land and accomplished it.
