Puritans and Americans alike have always been hard workers, and they have no problem with that. The puritans were always trying to distance themselves from the Church of England, and would always be doing their daily chores in their colonies, while Americans are always looking to get a jump on their job. The people who chose not to work were banished while Americans fall to the wayside and are forgotten. And although the consequences are much less than that of puritans, it is still bad enough Unlike Americans, puritans had no choice but to work, and the Americans today still feel the pressure to work to provide for their family. The most successful people in America are the ones who work the hardest, and this was also true for puritan life. The leader of all puritans, next to god, was the minister of the church, who tended to run the government and always be working, much like the president of America.
