I believe the puritans were driven with work ethic for many reasons. They were always working or doing something to maintain survival, as we've seen in the video. The puritans worked hard to establish themselves into the new and unfamiliar land to build up a strong colony. Trying to obtain new land, and working hard to survive is not easy. They also acted against the native americans where they fought and forced them out of the land. Work and religion were everything and the biggest priority in the Puritan society.
