Dominant Value: Action/ work Orientation
With the Puritans
When the Puritans came to America they knew that they needed to spend a little bit more time working on the survival and a little less time on God. So the Puritans started making their own colony and tried at the same time establishing the religion to everyone around them. But even though they kept God in their life, they can all agree that he was takin out quite a bit. And its not like only a few of the men were doing all of the work, everyone needed to help in the society to survive. Not one person could be laid back for the first couple of years or so. They needed to make life as easy as possible. Even if that means that they all have to live in little tiny houses and they all only get half a meal. But everyone had to paricipate and all get treated equally until life there got a little easier. That is how action/work orientation fit into all of the puritans life when they first came to the new land.
