Action/Work Orientation
The dominant american value that the Puritans had used the most was action/work orientation. The puritans didnt have a very open mind and they only liked people that believed the same thing as they did. The Puritans were very determinded to get things done, especially the way they wanted it. The Puritans showed this value was when they first got to thier colony their main goal was survival. The Puritans worked very hard to establish their colony and to get all the necessities they would need to survive. At first life as a Puritan was very hard because starting a colony in a new place was difficult. The Puritans werent fimilar with their surroundings and the land, thats why it was very hard to farm and to get good shelter for their families. The two things the Puritans mainly thought about and focused on was work and their religion. That is why they were successful at forming their colony. Overall, the American value of action and work orientation was expressed through the Puritans.
